In this one-of-a-kind role you’ll get immersed in all facets of Public Relations – from media relations, content creation and events to the “business behind the magic” – things like strategy, integrated communications and showcasing success. You might help promote current or future attractions, brainstorm ideas to celebrate key milestones at the Walt Disney World Resort or build an integrated plan to support the ongoing transformation of EPCOT. This is world-class learning experience.
Every day is different. You could be out in the theme parks and resorts to assist with photo and video productions or completing a walkthrough for a new attraction or event. You will help plan and host media visits. You’ll also be writing news releases, blog posts and other materials. Additionally, you will be tracking coverage and creating a recap that is sent to top executives. You could do that all in just one day.
This will be full-time Public Relations internship for a duration of six months starting in June 2024 through the beginning of January 2025.
Previous internship or other experience working in a Public Relations/Communications environment
Reporting/writing/editing experience with a student or professional news outlet (broadcast or print-digital) or Public Relations agency
Familiarity with the creative process for photography, video and social content
Creative ideas that support Public Relations strategy and diversity, equity and inclusion efforts
Confidence and ability to engage with media – providing assets, pitching stories and hosting for events
Experience tracking media coverage and creating summary reports
Strong interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and able to build presentations in Keynote and/or PowerPoint
A portfolio of previous work is recommended for this position. Please include a link to your portfolio on your resume
Previous Walt Disney World Resort work experience
Experience developing and implementing a Public Relations plan
Ability to build compelling presentations that sell concepts and ideas
Graphic design expertise and capable of working with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or other design tools
Proficiency speaking and writing in Spanish and/or Portuguese
A junior, senior or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Advertising, Communications or a related field of study
Enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
Be at least 18 years of age
Not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Alignment with The Disney Look appearance guidelines
This internship is a hybrid position - Ability to provide reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace
Program length - The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024 - January 2025
Be able to work FULL TIME hours (approximately 40 per week) for the duration of the internship
Be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
