Job Description

Lourdes University Upward Bound is looking for a Summer Program Spanish Teacher to serve high school students in Grades 9-12.

1. Summer Spanish teacher must have knowledge of Spanish levels 1-4, reading, and writing.

2. Facilitate Spanish classes for beginning and intermediate courses.

3. Develop a lesson plan(s) sensitive to class participants.

4. Develop a class syllabus and distribute it on the first day of class (prior syllabi will be given upon hire for review of ideas).

5. Create engaging activities for students to participate in.

6. Set performance standards for the class.

7. Grade all assignments and tests.

8. Report students making unsatisfactory progress to staff.

9. Report final grades and overall performance to staff.

Encourage youths in the program to remain and complete the secondary level of education.

Encourage youths to enroll in a post-secondary institution and graduate.

Requirements

• Summer Spanish teacher must have knowledge of Spanish levels 1-4, reading, and writing.
• Able to follow the Summer schedule: Part-time Monday through Thursday 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM & Seasonal: Starting Monday, June 3, 2024, through Wednesday, July 3, 2024
