Position: Megasys Technician (Gas Ops)

Pay Rate : $21.68/HR

Schedule: A,B,C,D compressed shift 7am-7:30pm or 7pm-7:30am

Location: Austin TX 78754

Day to Day:

The Megasys Technician helps support the Mega System of chemicals and controls throughout the sites.
Technicians will change 150+ drums, bottles, totes, bulk tankers, and cylinders per shift. In some cases, Technicians must put on Supplied Contained Breathing Air Respirator (this type of respirator provides air from a cylinder through a mask connected to the cylinder) while working with chemicals (approx. 10-15 minutes).
Technicians may need to climb a tanker truck (18-wheeler), while using fall protection, to offload chemicals into a drum.
Physical demands on the job include walking (up to 5-6 miles/day), climbing ladders, lifting 25- 50 lbs., bending down, stepping up and down in close quarters. Some areas require the use of hearing protection. Workers will wear a hard hat, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes at all times. Disposable chemical aprons are required in some areas along with Nitrile gloves and ear plugs. In very few areas slip-resistant booties are required but are available if needed

Previous experience with chemical and gas distribution equipment is helpful but not a must
Prior experience in maintenance, as an equipment technician or in a mechanical or electronic environment is a plus Manufacturing, Quality or Warehouse experience preferred
Basic computer skills are required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Must have a valid Drivers license and must speak English

Shift Information:

A Shift (Night): Every other Saturday night, Su, M, Tu

B Shift(Day): Su, M, Tu, Every other Wednesday

C Shift (Night): W, Th, F, Every other Saturday night

D Shift (Day): Every other Wednesday, Th, F, Sa
