Our client, a RTW fashion brand, is seeking a Technical Designer to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis. This will be PT hours initially, around 2-3 days a week, and gradually increase.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Reports to: Director of Product Development & Production

This role requires a highly organized, experienced, and motivated individual to support development and production process. The Tech Designer will work closely with patternmakers and factories to ensure accurate fit, construction, and quality across all garments. This role will collaborate cross-functionally with design, development, and production teams to ensure clear communication and streamlined processes. Strong problem- solving skills, attention to detail, and teamwork are essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Support technical design for development and production across all categories, including but not limited to:

• Create and update tech packs, ensuring information is accurate from development through to production
• Collaborate with designers, patternmakers, and manufacturers to ensure brand standards are met
• Meet with Design team and patternmakers for handoffs including sketches and mock- up/knitdown requests
• Measure garments from proto through TOP stage to confirm specifications
• Attend fittings, take pictures/notes, and offer suggestions to improve fits
• Collaborate with our external network of patternmakers and manufacturers when necessary to solve fit and construction issues
• Maintain organized library of tech design files, including pattern cards and digital patterns
