Job Description: Summer Supply Chain Consulting Analyst
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and analytical Summer Supply Chain Consulting Analyst to join our consulting team for a 10 12 week internship program. This is a unique opportunity to gain handson experience in supply chain consulting working alongside senior consultants and industry experts to deliver solutions that enhance operational efficiency reduce costs and optimize supply chain performance. You will engage in data analysis process improvement initiatives and strategic planning to help clients overcome supply chain challenges and achieve their business objectives.
Key Responsibilities: Supply Chain Analysis and Strategy:
- Assist in analyzing client supply chain operations to identify inefficiencies bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
- Support the development of supply chain strategies to optimize processes reduce costs and improve overall performance.
- Contribute to recommendations for inventory management procurement logistics and production planning strategies.
Data Collection and Reporting:
- Gather and analyze supply chain data including logistics inventory levels supplier performance and demand forecasts.
- Develop reports dashboards and visualizations that summarize findings and highlight key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Provide actionable insights to inform decisionmaking and improve supply chain efficiency.
Process Improvement:
- Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement within client supply chain operations.
- Support the implementation of best practices in areas such as inventory control demand planning and warehouse management.
- Apply methodologies like Lean Six Sigma and other frameworks to optimize workflows and reduce waste.
Supplier and Vendor Analysis:
- Evaluate supplier performance metrics to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in developing strategies for supplier relationship management and sourcing optimization.
- Help create sustainable procurement strategies that align with clients business goals and ESG objectives.
Risk Management and Resilience:
- Analyze supply chain risks including supplier dependencies disruptions and regulatory challenges.
- Contribute to the development of risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to enhance supply chain resilience.
- Help identify innovative solutions to minimize risks and adapt to changing market conditions.
Client Engagement and Communication:
- Prepare clientfacing reports presentations and materials to effectively communicate supply chain insights and recommendations.
- Participate in client meetings and workshops contributing to discussions on supply chain challenges and solutions.
- Collaborate with senior consultants to track and report on project milestones and deliverables.
Research and Industry Trends:
- Conduct research on industry trends emerging technologies and supply chain best practices.
- Benchmark client performance against industry standards to identify competitive opportunities and gaps.
- Stay informed on innovations in supply chain technology such as blockchain IoT and predictive analytics.
Qualifications: Educational Background:
- Currently pursuing a bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration Industrial Engineering Logistics or a related field.
- Strong academic performance with a demonstrated interest in supply chain management or operations.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of supply chain processes logistics procurement and inventory management is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present data and recommendations.
- Familiarity with supply chain technologies or ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle) is an advantage.
