Job Description

Our client is seeking a Spatial Designer to join their team onsite 5 days a week in the Portland, OR area. This is a fulltime 3 month contract to start with high potential to turn into a fulltime employment position that comes with excellent benefits. While on contract you'd also be eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision and more.

Ideal Candidate : will have a degree in Spatial Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field, with 2–5 years of experience and a strong portfolio showcasing creative, diverse projects. Proficiency in SketchUp or 3D Studio Max, Adobe Creative Suite, and Figma is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and execution of spatial environments, including retail stores, exhibitions, events, and commercial interiors.
  • Partner with the Creative Director, project managers, and clients to align design concepts with project goals, requirements, and schedules.
  • Develop and enhance 2D and 3D layouts, models, and visual presentations that support the project’s vision and user experience.
  • Continuously research emerging design trends, innovative materials, and new technologies to inform spatial design work.
  • Manage project deadlines effectively while maintaining high design standards and staying within budget.
  • Identify and address design issues as they arise, ensuring smooth progress and successful project completion.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Spatial Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or a closely related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of professional experience in spatial design, supported by a strong portfolio showcasing diverse projects and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Skilled in 3D modeling software such as SketchUp or 3D Studio Max, with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
  • Solid understanding of spatial design fundamentals and materials, including their application and impact.
