Description
American Spoon is seeking a Senior Retail Associate for our Saugatuck location to work year-round with part-time hours in winter months and up to full-time hours in high season. This position requires working Thursdays and Sundays and the ability to open/close the store. This position is ideal for those who enjoy working in a pleasant retail setting.
* As a Senior Retail Associate you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to our existing customers and modeling superior customer service to our team.
* The Sr. Retail Associate acts as an ambassador for our brand, actively educating our customers about who we are, what we do, how to use our products, and acts as a tour guide to those visiting our stores to ensure their experience is exceptional.
* The Sr. Retail Associate maintains a clean and organized store, keeping both front and backroom shelves fully stocked along with sales aids, and performing opening/closing tasks to ensure the store is clean and beautifully presented throughout the day. This requires bending, lifting, twisting, the ability to lift up to 50# and be on their feet the majority of the day.
* The Sr. Retail Associate completes purchases at our POS (Point of Sale).
* The Sr. Retail Associate assists in the preparation and serving of product tastings.
Requirements
* Must have some retail experience, ideally working in a small specialty retail shop, or in a capacity similar to it.
* Must enjoy proactively working with people.
* Must have weekend availability [Thursdays and Sundays are required] and the ability to work some evenings until 9pm during summer months. Please do not apply for this position if you do not have weekend availability.
* A passion for food, cooking with fresh ingredients and a strong interest in and knowledge of locally grown fruits and vegetables is a plus!
*An energetic spirit, a positive attitude, the ability to receive and carry out direction, attention to detail, the desire to work as part of a team, high standards, an unwillingness to compromise on quality, and commitment to the position are essential.
* Familiarity with American Spoon, our history, and our products is a plus.
* ServSafe certification is a plus.
