The Mission of the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) is to protect and promote the health of all San Franciscans. SFDPH strives to achieve its mission through the work of multiple divisions - the San Francisco Health Network, Population Health, Behavioral Health Services, and Administration. The San Francisco Health Network is the City’s only complete system of care and has locations throughout the City, including Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, and over 15 primary care health centers. The Population Health Division (PHD) provides core public health services for the City and County of San Francisco: health protection, health promotion, disease and injury prevention, and disaster preparedness and response. Behavioral Health Services operates in conjunction with SFHN and provides a range of mental health and substance use treatment services.
The eligible list from this Class Based Test (CBT) announcement will be used to fill future vacancies in this class and specialty for the duration of the eligible list.
Under direction, the Consumer Protection Senior Environmental Health Inspector regulates food facilities, solid waste handling, housing, hotels, tobacco, massage and body arts establishments, drinking water, air quality, sewage disposal, and other matter under the applicable local, state and federal legal authority to protect and promote health and environment of City and County of San Francisco. May supervise Environmental Health Inspectors and other support staff engaged in enforcing the provisions of federal, state and local ordinances and laws pertaining to health, safety and environmental hazards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in food, housing, water quality and supply, vector control, noise abatement and/or other related environmental health inspection work
License and Certification:
One-year fulltime employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours (2,000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40-hour work week).

Supplemental Questionnaire Examination: (Weight = 100%): Qualified candidates will be sent a Supplemental Questionnaire (SQ) exam that must be completed by the set date. Candidates will be evaluated on their relative knowledge, skill and ability levels in job-related areas. A passing score must be achieved on the SQ in order to be placed/ranked on the Eligible List. Candidate responses on the Supplemental Questionnaire cannot be changed once submitted.

The certification rule for the eligible list resulting from this examination will be the Rule of Three Scores .
