Position Summary: The Psychology Department Student Assistant provides support for faculty and students in the Psychology Department.
Essential Job Functions: Primary duties would be 1) to help the faculty with clerical work and, 2) to be in charge of scheduling lab rooms for experiments. Clerical work includes photocopying, simple grading (e.g., multiple choice), data entry, posting surveys online, posting notices in the psych department, putting items on reserve in the library, making sure there are paper and other supplies and the labs, and various other tasks. For the room scheduling, each week the assistant posts a schedule on the door of all lab rooms and common space (Teel 201, 203, 216, and the Psi Chi lounge) indicating when classes, office hours, or other events are being held in those rooms.
The expected work is 3 to 4 hours per week. The department assistant holds scheduled office hours each week, during which time they are available to work on clerical tasks. Professors might contact you during your office hours or via email with requests.

The individual is routinely exposed to indoor conditions, minimum outdoor weather and temperature extremes, and moderate noise level.
