About Your Work

The Practice Manager works collaboratively with leadership to oversee practice and clinical operations for Altais Medical Group Riverside clinic. This role may support one or multiple practice sites and has oversight of and responsibility for day-to-day operations of practice(s). This operational oversight includes but is not limited to managing staffing, clinical schedules, patient access, provider communication and direction, and practice workflows. This position is also responsible for implementation of centralized initiatives, the analysis of practice data and operations and developing solutions to address identified gaps / opportunities A significant emphasis will be placed on the performance of the team, helping to manage change and building a patient-oriented culture across practices. Collaborates with leadership on goal setting for practices and the organization, responsible for executing Key Performance Indicators including but not limited to: Productivity; Cost containment; Quality and Patient Satisfaction. Fosters a culture of engagement and positive experiences with our patients, providers, and team members across the organization. This position will support and coordinate with Physician Leadership in attaining and maintaining clinical, quality, operational and financial goals. The Manager, Clinic Operations will work the AMG Operations Director and President, AMG to develop a strategic growth and provider recruitment strategy, to ensure consistent growth in the patient base for AMGR, with an adequate provider base to deliver care.

You Will Focus On:

  • Provides oversight of practice administrative and clinical operations to support practice’s mission statement, goals and objectives. This may be focused on a specific practice location or several.
  • In collaboration with the Chief Quality & Clinical Operations Officer, responsible for staffing, performance reviews and disciplinary action for team members and day to day operations of the practice.
  • Leads the creation and promotion of a common culture of interdependence amongst practices with an emphasis on patient experience.
  • Drives patient centric culture within the practice.
  • Ensures clinicians have the support they need to provide safe and effective patient care; troubleshoots and removes barriers, whenever possible.
  • Collaborates with leadership team should performance or behavior issues arise with clinicians to best serve the needs of the practice.
  • Responsible for overseeing practice performance metrics and collaborating with AMGR leadership to achieve practice goals, including financial performance, appointment volume, quality metrics and utilization management metrics.
  • Ensures staff and clinicians have the tools and training they need to effectively use the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Oversees ordering of office and medical supplies, vaccines and any necessary equipment; collaborates with accounting to ensure all invoices are reviewed and submitted timely.
  • Assists with the development, implementation and maintenance of practice policies and procedures.
  • Leads teams through change management; supports growth within the organization.
  • Provides other AMGR operational support, as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned by leadership.

The Skills, Experience & Education You Bring

  • Required Education: Undergraduate degree from accredited 4-year university or equivalent, preferably in Health Care related field of study.
  • Master’s degree or other graduate level education.
  • Minimum Experience: 5 years of experience in Physician practice or healthcare-related field, experience in people management preferred; 2 years of experience in Utilization Management (Referrals) and Quality Management Performance (Value based incentive programs- P4P; CMS 5 STAR).
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Uses independent judgment and initiative within established policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to change communication styles to meet the needs of the audience.
  • Works effectively with others to encourage teamwork and productivity.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare and practice workflows, ideally in primary care and specialty care.
  • Knowledge of billing, claims, insurance verification, referral and authorization process.
  • Knowledge of quality management incentive programs.
  • Knowledge of EHR systems, preferably knowledge of EHR conversion.
  • Ability to successfully prioritize and resolve multiple and sometimes conflicting practice operation obstacles.
  • Must be able to take initiative and function independently as well as interdependently.
  • Supports a professional culture and leads by example.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail required.
  • Organizes effectively and efficiently to accommodate interruptions and changing priorities.
  • Significant experience working with an EHR, preferably Epic
  • People management experience highly preferred

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements. The anticipated pay range for this role is listed in our salary posting for transparency but may vary based on factors including the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and geographic location. This base pay range is specific to California and can vary based on Bay Area, Metro LA, and Greater California regions which may not be applicable to other locations.

Physical Requirements: Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork – Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of workday.
