Job Description

Job Description:
For over 40 years, Gaston & Wyatt has been recognized by the top architects and builders in the nation as a manufacturer and supplier of premium architectural products. Our success has come from providing expertise and the best products in the industry to a customer base that appreciates and expects quality and attention to detail. For this same clientele, we will add a service technician to our team to represent our company in the field at the professional level our customers have come to expect. Gaston & Wyatt is a rapidly growing, niche-oriented company that can provide interesting projects to work on year-round with strong support and experienced backing on making your job successful and rewarding.

The role:
We are seeking an experienced technician that has serviced or installed millwork, windows, doors, and hardware in a professional capacity. This unique individual will introduce a new service role for us that prioritizes and develops general contractor partnerships while providing post-sale warranty and non-warranty services, parts and service quotes and orders, and some installations. If you are a professional craftsperson who is experienced in construction practices and safety, and you have an interest in taking over and further developing this department into a revenue-generating leg of our company, we want to hear from you. The right person is proud of their work, dedicated to working with both homeowners and builders, and goes the extra mile whenever necessary (and often when it’s not!).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct walk- throughs, as needed, during and after the installation of our products as needed to ensure everything is installed correctly and operates as it should.
  • Schedule site needs and conduct professional service calls on our windows, doors, door hardware, and millwork.
  • Research if needed, quote, and order parts needed for replacement.
  • Recognize and solve problems before they become a schedule or cost issue.
  • Track service/warranty issues and provide feedback to the sales team and vendors as needed.
  • Maintain a working relationship with trade partners on site.
  • Explain to customers what will happen throughout their service experience and set expectations accordingly.
  • Take the time to listen to customers’ concerns and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Know and appreciate the value of a timely and professional response to customer questions and concerns.
  • Keep all work, parts, tools, and on-site working environments organized and clean.
  • Be curious and learn - never presume to know all the answers.
  • The ability to offer oversight of a small install crew.
Other requirements:
  • Valid driver’s license with clean DMV record
  • High School Diploma
  • At least 10 years of related experience with strong references
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Able to lift 75lbs on your own safely.
  • Knowledge and adherence to proper construction site safety practices
  • Construction expertise in identifying and diagnosing issues, and experience with proper window, door, and hardware installation and repair.
  • The right person can create and manage punch lists and other on-site services while actively facilitating a resolution to any issue.
  • Must have computer literacy in the professional level.
We understand that a world-class service experience is in the details. All of the care, pride, professionalism, and craftsmanship we put into our products would mean little without the very best customer experience.

We offer:
  • Competitive pay
  • Significant benefit package including health insurance.
  • Dedicated and experienced team for support and guidance.
  • Interesting and exciting projects and job sites.
  • Ability to work with the industry’s elites.
  • Compensation for travel expenses.
  • Industry related and product specific training.
  • Replacement of damaged or worn-out tools for job related activities.
