Graphic Design Intern - Architecture & Construction

Position Overview

We are seeking a creative and motivated Graphic Designer Intern to join our architecture and construction team. This role offers hands-on experience creating visual communications that support architectural projects, construction documentation, and marketing initiatives within the built environment industry.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Visual Communication

  • Create compelling presentation materials for client meetings, including project proposals, design concepts, and progress reports
  • Collaborate on marketing collateral such as brochures, flyers, and digital assets for architectural services and other trade show materials
  • Design infographics and diagrams to communicate complex construction processes and project timelines
  • Assist in creating visual brand guidelines and maintaining brand consistency across all materials

Digital & Print Media

  • Design and maintain website graphics, social media content, and digital presentations
  • Prepare print-ready files for various marketing materials and project documentation
  • Assist with photography coordination and image editing for project documentation
  • Collaborate with architects and project managers to create visually appealing proposals, project reports, and other documentation assets.
  • Utilize industry-standard design software mainly Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Maintain organized digital asset libraries and file management systems
  • Adapt designs for multiple formats and platforms

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating design skills and creative problem-solving
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience or coursework in architecture, construction, or related industries
  • Familiarity with architectural drawing conventions and construction terminology
  • Experience with web design and digital marketing
  • Knowledge of print production processes
  • Basic photography and photo editing skills
  • Understanding of brand development and marketing principles
