Job Description

We are excited to announce a job opportunity for the position of Gallery Assistant Manager within the Art Gallery department. This position is available for internal candidates only.

Primary location: 324 Beckers Lane, and other gallery locations as needed

Compensation: $17.50-19.00 an hour plus commission

As an Assistant Manager, you will work closely with the team to drive store sales by demonstrating attention to detail in supporting and selling goods to guests, while maintaining the visual integrity of the store. Assistant Managers also resolve checkout and customer service related issues to ensure all guests have an enjoyable experience. By authentically and attentively engaging with customers, you will assist them in finding the perfect items, and foster connections that enrich their shopping experience. 

Must be able to work Mondays, Tuesdays, and at least one weekend day per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and communicate current knowledge of merchandise to guests.
  • Supervise team members and shift leads by modeling a culture of positive customer service and goal-oriented teamwork
  • Provide continuous training for shift leads and team members
  • Assist with controlling stock as it arrives in the Gallery and keep back-stock log updated
  • Ensure team members and shift leads are on-time and ready to work
  • Delegate and ensure all side work responsibilities are completed as needed
  • Ensure that team members and shift leads have appropriate training and provide coaching when needed
  • Be responsible for opening and closing duties
  • Help keep information files up to date and create new information files as needed
  • Provide assistance with any register and computer or customer service issues
  • Maintain commissions log
  • Promote and encourage best sales practices to increase sales
  • Maintain visual integrity and inventory by pricing, stocking, cleaning displays, folding, sweeping, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting and long-lasting relationships
  • Previous management experience
  • Familiarity with consumer behavior principles
  • Ability to perform and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Knowledgeable of associate member job duties and responsibilities
  • Demonstrates knowledge of cash register systems and troubleshoot any issues
  • Current Shift Lead or equivalent management experience required.
