Metric Bio is partnering with a stealth-mode oncology startup on the cutting edge of AI-driven cancer therapies. We’re seeking a Founding Scientist to spearhead the development of Vision-Language Models (VLMs) for precision oncology. If you have a strong publication record and experience in multi-modal large language models (LLMs) and/or VLMs, this is your chance to make a major impact in revolutionizing cancer treatment.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead the development of multi-modal VLMs that integrate imaging, clinical, and genomic data to drive cancer diagnosis and treatment.
• Build state-of-the-art algorithms that combine visual data (e.g., medical imaging) with text (e.g., patient records, clinical notes) for actionable insights in oncology.
• Collaborate with a top-tier team of scientists and clinicians to translate your work into real-world, clinical applications.
• Publish cutting-edge research and present findings at top-tier conferences, establishing yourself as a thought leader in the field.
• Drive the company’s AI strategy and IP development, contributing to patents and proprietary technologies.

What We’re Looking For:

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or related field.
• Strong publication record in multi-modal LLMs , machine learning, or computer vision, ideally with applications to healthcare or oncology.
• Expertise in Vision-Language Models and deep learning architectures, particularly for image-text data fusion (e.g., transformers).
• Experience with medical imaging, natural language processing (NLP), and integrating multi-modal data.
• A track record of impactful research in multimodal AI technologies with a strong publication record at the likes of NeurIPS, ICML, ACL, CVPR, IEEE, JMLR, TPAMI etc...
• Ability to work independently, think strategically, and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
