Estimator

Location: Pleasanton, CA

Salary: $160,000 – $200,000 + Company Benefits

Work Location: Pleasanton Office

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for public works , private works , and grading projects, including but not limited to:
• Water, sewer, storm drain, and underground utility construction
• Site preparation and earthwork/grading activities
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to assess project scope and requirements
• Utilize HCSS software to develop and manage estimates
• Identify and mitigate risks through accurate forecasting of labor, materials, and equipment costs
• Attend pre-bid meetings and perform site visits as necessary
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, pricing, and construction methodologies

Requirements:

• 5–20+ years of experience in estimating civil construction projects, including underground utilities and grading
• Proficiency with HCSS estimating software
• Prior experience working for a contractor in the heavy civil or underground construction industry
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously
