Position Summary:
The Department of Clinical Forensic Psychology at The Chicago School on the Anaheim and Los Angeles campuses, invites applications for full-time faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate level, beginning as soon as the positions are filled.
As a Department within The Chicago School, the Clinical Forensic Department is guided by the Engaged Practitioner Model , which is based upon learning through community service and preparing students to be ‘engaged’ and active practitioners and participants in their communities. Successful applicants for this faculty position should be able to demonstrate training and expertise providing services within forensic settings and/or with forensic populations. Such experiences will be an important influence on the educational resources available to our students. Courses are taught in a blended format (on-ground and online); on-ground classes meet every other weekend and students complete online work between class meetings.
Principal Duties:
Teach courses related to the practice of Clinical Forensic Psychology in the M.A. and Psy.D. programs.
Mentor and advise graduate students.
Contribute to curriculum design and departmental development that is consistent with the mission and strategic plan.
Monitor student learning outcomes and progress.
Serve on dissertation committees as a Chair or member.
Interact and communicate successfully with a diverse population.
Engage in service-learning with faculty and students.
Participate in outreach activities with community partners.
Attend department faculty meetings, clinical program faculty meetings and other meetings as required.
Facilitate and engage in student recruitment activities.
Act in a way that embodies the mission, vision and values of The Chicago School.
Perform other duties as requested and/or assigned by the Academic Chair.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong background in clinical assessment and intervention.
Maintain consistent professionalism.
Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships within the department and throughout The Chicago School.
Communicate ideas and information effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Possess the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, needs, and demands.
Maintain knowledge of state and national training and licensing requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Forensic Psychology or a closely related field
Licensed or license-eligible in the state of California (must be licensed within two years of employment).
Evidence of teaching experience at the graduate level.
