Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

1. College degree with an emphasis in Math, Statistics, Finance, or related field or other majors in conjunction with credit for preliminary actuarial exams (VEE credit)
2. Good PC skills, including the use of spreadsheets and databases, and aptitude for insurance and actuarial software
3. Basic knowledge of insurance concepts
4. Good communication skills.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Support actuarial analysis to assist in the development of rates, reserves, and financial forecasts used in actuarial recommendations and reporting.
2. Maintain actuarial databases. Compile, categorize, document, and validate data for analysis and related reports.
3. Effectively use actuarial software to support decision analysis, including a basic familiarity with actuarial software and models used to support work assignments, accurately maintaining model inputs and reviewing reasonableness of results.
4. Assist in preparation of actuarial communications including financial reporting, profit or risk analysis, response to regulators, or information for management or agents.
5. Assist in the implementation of new actuarial systems.
