The Opportunity

As an Accounting Summer Intern, you will work with the Global Finance team and serve as a resource for an assigned function: Accounting Operations, Financial Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Project Accounting, Global Billing, Payroll, Statutory Accounting, Treasury, Tax or Financial Application teams.

Duties may include:

• May prepare basic financial reports and support financial analysis
• Identify basic variances and support financial planning
• Work to gain basic level of enterprise-wide business systems knowledge to obtain and analyze basic data
• Support special projects as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Obtaining a degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university
• Technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite 
• Problem Solving skills, effective Written Communication, and interpersonal skills

Minimum Qualifications

Current enrollment in Accounting or Finance program. No experience required. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Work Environment

Professionals located near a Black & Veatch office have the option of a hybrid work model that offers a balance between working together in person and the flexibility of remote work. Our hybrid work model means you will work three days in the office and two days from another location of your choice.

This hybrid role is in Overland Park, Kansas.
